it's a good night to be out there soakin up the moonlight

Last Friday, the 5th, I went out to Fly Lounge in DC with some JMU friends.  This "lounge" was very nice... very DC.  It was $20 for guys to get in, ladies got in for free (thank goodness).  I ordered two drinks... and my bill was $22 - what a rip!  But that's DC for ya.  It was pretty cool because the lounge is set up like an airplane.  The bar is on one side, the dance floor in the middle, and the lounge on the opposite side of the bar.  When inside at the bar, looking out on the streets of DC, it appears you are in an airplane with the small windows.  Here is a description of Fly Lounge on a review article I found online:

Part of the buzz is Fly's aviation-themed design: curved, dropped ceilings that replicate the cylindrical fuselage of a 747; aluminum-paneled walls; flat-screen monitors positioned like windows; female cocktail servers in low-cut stewardess uniforms (complete with a neck scarf); even free bags of hyper-salted mixed nuts -- which come in silver wrappers emblazoned with the Fly logo.

All in all, it was a great experience.  I'm glad I went, but couldn't say I would go back there again - way too pricey for me.  It was great going out with JMU friends, and we had an interesting cab ride home... The cab driver was driving us in silence, so my friend Liann asked if he could turn on the radio.... he decided to sing to us instead.  It was much more funny and awkward when we were in the cab, the video really doesn't do it justice.  Enjoy!
