wave your hands in the air if you feel fine

I love flex fridays... I work 9 hour days, so I have every other Friday off.  One of my coworkers, Adam,  who works in the Springfield office was having a house party at his place in Vienna on Thursday night.  I went there knowing I would only know Adam and his girlfriend Jacqui.  It was really fun because I felt like I was in college again.  A pretty crappy house, your flip flops sticking to the floor because of spilt booze, keg out back, beer pong table, and people gettin rowdy.  Adam and Jac are introducing me to everyone that passes by...  a guy walks up to me, and I instantly recognize him.  I have no idea where I know him, and I can't recall his name, but I knew I had met him before.  After he said his name, I remembered how I knew him.  He was a sophomore at Mason when I was a freshman and he was in the fraternity that I used to hang out with.  He knew exactly who I was -- he was good friends with one of my roommates freshman year.  We got to catch up on each others lives, and discuss who we still talk to at Mason.  I didn't know that after his sophomore year at Mason he transferred out.  It seemed both of us had similar stories: both hated Mason, and sort of left that life behind us.  It was just so crazy seeing a familiar face at a random house party in Vienna.  I drove home, got back around 1.30/2ish, and I saw a Dominion bucket truck.  I texted Adam expressing my excitement for the bucket truck, and Adam texts back, "Oh that was me making OT".

Friday during the day I ran tons of errands... I feel like I am filling my car up with gas alllll the time.  And the fact that it takes premium pretty much blows
for lack of a better word.  My friend Cat invited me over to her pool, but it was pretty overcast.  That night, Maribeth (I'm a bridesmaid in her wedding!) came over and we drove to our to our friends Lauren's house in Crystal City.  We took a cab to the waterfront in Georgetown.  I had never been there before.  And it was PACKED.  Sadly, there is no dancing, but it was awesome being on the water.  We started at Tony and Joe's, but ended up at Sequoia.  I ran into a friend from JMU, David Centofante.  This guy might as well be Mr. Madison.  He is crazy popular and very involved with JMU.  He is an all around great guy (and we go to the same church) :)  I also ran into a bunch of people from my high school (that were at the 311 concert I went to), so that was fun as well.  Andddd on top of that, I ran into my good friend Adam who lives in the city.  I took Adam as my date to the Winter Gala back in January.  He
is a great guy and I enjoyed hanging out with him.  DC is so huge, but I keep running into random people - I love it!  Don't tell anyone... but I think I might like DC now.  Ahhhhh

Saturday I went with my cousin Jenny, her husband David, and their baby Aiden to a mini Dominion BBQ in Woodbridge.  A lot of the Alexandria crews were there, a designer from Springfield, and two admins from Alex...  One Dominion!  It wasn't technically a "Dominion event", but there were quite a few Dom people there!  The food was delicious!  I love a good cookout.  Anything grilled is amazing.  It was a lot of kids and couples, but everyone was real nice.  We all had a blast, minus the bug bites..

Saturday night I went and saw the movie The Hangover with my friend Jeff.  Everyone I know has said how hilarious it was.  It definitely lived up to its expectation.  Some parts were pretty gross; it definitely has a young sense of humor - but I always love a good laugh!  And I can't stop quoting it...

Sunday was pretty relaxing.  I received a nice package in the mail from Alisa Adams, Allison's mom.  It was a Bible Handbook which I think will become very useful.  She wrote me a lovely note which was very encouraging.  I feel like a part of their family, they are all so welcoming!  I went to church tonight, and am looking forward to the new series which starts in two weeks -  "The After Party" which discusses what happens after you die, what the Bible says about Hell, and if what you do in this life matters.  Should be interesting stuff!

Now back to the grind....
