SNOW

I couldn't even tell you what day it started snowing... The days are all running together. The first night it snowed, it was only about 1-3". I still went outside and played in it for a bit with my neighbor Tyler. After about an hour, I got pretty bored. (Typical beach girl)
Snow!

And then the blizzard came! It just KEPT snowing... some areas got up to 3 feet! This snow has been named Snowgasim 2010, Kaiser Snowze, Snowmageddon, Snowpocalypse, Snowacious D, and Snowtorious B.I.G. How about we just call it a blizzard?? The only blizzards I like are from dairy queen! You got that, Snow??? Sigh. But whichever name you prefer, it was a ton of snow! Needless to say, I was working in it. I worked 12 days straight, 7 of which were storm restoration. I worked 30ish hours of OT, and worked some DT too! I was mentally and physically exhausted. I only slept in my own bed one night... the other nights I slept in hotels. I ate out every meal (we had to). It was so nice to finally come home, eat regular food, and sleep in my own bed. I would love working storm full time, but after seeing my coworkers longing to be with their significant others and family, I don't know if I'd be able to hack it. Great for right now, but not forever. I learned so much from working in this storm though. I worked with contractors from Georgia, and a Team Leader from Hampton. I love it when everyone comes together to get the job done - One Dominion! My patrol partner, Jesse, and I were walking through someone's backyard with snow above our knees... then suddenly thought, "I bet these people have an in ground pool..." We quickly retraced our steps backwards, and walked along the property line. It was also difficult to see wire down because of the snow. It was intense! I am so glad it is over, you have no idea...
The parkway, among other roads, were a complete mess!

We saw a plow truck get stuck.

My office - 171! That's Jesse, my patrol partner, walking inside.

Winter wonderland

Beautiful.

I love working storm patrol, but I'll take hurricane season over snow any day.

Take me to the beach.
