I have been getting tons of advice from family and friends on the home buying process which has been super helpful. I learn something new, not just about houses, but about myself. Things that I'm willing to sacrifice, things that are deal breakers, and things I cannot live without. My good friend Brian always gives me advice on anything, so I have been seeking his advice more so now since I feel strongly about buying a house in Richmond. Our friendship is pretty interesting actually. Brian continually gives me advice, and I continually refuse to take it. I can't believe I'm admitting this, but Brian is usually (I cannot bring myself to say always!) right. The interesting part is, I still don't take his advice even though I know he has an awesome track record.
Here is an example: Brian suggested I buy a condo, rowhome, or townhome. He knew I wouldn't want to do yard work, but no - I was set on a single family home. I talk to my brother, and Rick advises me to buy a condo. And just like that , I was convinced I wanted a condo. Brian couldn't help but make fun of this moment. Here is a conversation Brian created that gave me a few chuckles. Enjoy!!
Brian: "Here's some advice with several examples that back up the reasons. Well thought out and extensive."
Roxana: "Pfft, you don't know what you're talking about, idiot. I want something cute."
Brian: "More examples and even better advice."
Roxana: "Whatever, retard."
Roxana's Brother: "Meh..."
Roxana: "Oh my goodness, you're so right. I can't believe I didn't think of that."
