classy

I recently saw the play Beauty and the Beast performed at the Landmark Theater.  Ok, ok... you're probably thinking, "Beauty and the Beast??  As in, Tale as Old as Time?"  Yep... that's right folks!

I had an extra ticket, and thought about the different people who would love to see this Disney classic performed on stage.  But before inviting any friends, I asked my Aunt Paula if she wanted to go see it with me.  After all, I am living rent free under her roof!  I figured the least I can do is see if she wants to go see this awesome play!

The play. was. weak.

I'm talking so weak that my Aunt Paula and I were trying to determine an appropriate time to get up and leave.  We decided to sit through it's entirety since the tickets were expensive, but right as the curtain would close, we would bolt.  That was our game plane.  No need to watch the actors bow.  After all, we were already sick of watching the couple next to us make out.  Please, there are also kiddies in attendance to watch this play!

After the beast turned into a prince, my Aunt and I looked at each other and cringed.  He was more attractive as a beast!  Did anyone remember the beast having a tail??  I was shocked when I saw his long tail was...

According to our plan, we jumped out of our seats and headed towards the exit sign when the actors started to bow.  As we walked down the flights of stairs from our nose bleed section, a little girl dressed up in her Belle dress ate it, and fell down the stairs.  She bounced back rather quickly, her mother asking her repeatedly if she was ok.  The girl said she was fine, but you could tell she was about to burst into tears any minute.  She was blocking the stairwell... just standing there with her bottom lip quivering.  The tears would come at any moment.  Should me and my Aunt double to check to see if she's ok?  Or walk around her?

Meh. Her mom was there.  We walked around her, and made it just in time to the parking lot where we wouldn't have to sit in any traffic.

I've got to start thinking of better ways to show my appreciation for my Aunt!  Note to self: no bad plays....

  1. Wait, wasn't this the real broadway play that was here? Because if you're claiming the broadway beauty and the beast was terrible - that is so sad! The music is so beautiful! (I've never seen it, but I do have the soundtrack - and it's lovely!)
