it's the most wonderful time of the year

JMU Homecoming 2011 - for some it was just another Saturday, but for others it was a day to gather with family and friends, celebrate JMU, watch some football, and remember the good times.  Every year I look forward to attending homecoming.  I love seeing what's new on campus, stocking up on my JMU gear, tailgating, getting my photo taken with the duke dog, and spending time with the JMU crew.

We drove up Thursday afternoon and stayed the whole weekend.  My Dad played in the alumni golf tournament on Friday while Rick and I drive around campus and went to the bookstore.  We went to dinner at Bravo, my favorite restaurant in Harrisonburg.  They have the best baked ziti, and their croutons in their salads alone are delish.  We had a huge group - a table of about 20.  I felt really bad for our waitress, but she did an excellent job!  We ate, drank, and laughed - had a few awkward moments, but hey, that's typical in our crowd.

The weather was perfect for football.  It was really warm in the sun, which was great for tailgating, but then cooled down for the game.  We set up our tailgate in Godwin, right next to the new football stadium.*  I love seeing so much purple and yellow at one time.  I also love seeing my college gals which I don't get to see often - or when I do see them, it's not all of us together at one time.  We were still missing a few key players, but had the majority of the group.

It started raining after half time, but I was nice and warm in the suite.  That's right, we got upgraded this year to the suite!!  It was extremely nice, and I personally feel we had to best view in the house!  I can't wait until next year!

Oh, JMU won by the way - crushed those Richmond spiders.  J-M-U Duuuuuuuuuuuuuukes!
