Apple Picking and Wine Tasting

My small group girls are awesome. Not only do I get to spend time with them on Monday night for small group, but we hang out on the weekends as well. It's legit. We went apple picking at Carter Mountain and then a little wine tasting at the Jefferson. You wish you were in our small group. ;) Morgan and Emily were super adventurous and decided to walk up the hill to pick some Fuji apples... Laura and I decided to take the free shuttle. Luckily there were apple picking rules inside the bus for those of us that were inexperienced apple pickers. I have never been apple picking before, so I was unaware you could just pick apples and eat them without paying for them. Needless to say, I sampled my fair share of apples. I only ended up buying two. Laura bought a bunch so she could make apple pie -- she definitely brought the pie to small group the following Monday, and it was delicious. We couldn't have asked for better weather, and the view was breathtaking. We even had a cup of warm apple cider.

I'm not going to lie, this photo is staged. I did it for you Mom!

Apparently this was the best apple

Tons to choose from!

Check out those beautiful distribution lines!!! Ok, I'm a nerd...

Love it!

After apple picking, we went to some wine tasting... we had a blast! It was only $5.00 for the wine tasting, and we got to keep our wine tasting glass. I definitely learned about what I like about certain wines. I am a fan of dry wines, not sweet ones. I wish we had more time at the winery... but the good news is, I got to bring some of the winery home with me. ;) When would I be back there?! I had to buy a bottle!

Having fun at the Jefferson Winery!

Side note: me and Laura tend to wear glowsticks at Bandito's. Just fyi.

I am a big fan of wine...
