kevin and melissa get hitched!

I love a good wedding, folks.

And let me tell you, the Bennett/Nacy wedding was definitely a good wedding.  For those of you that don't know, Kevin was my first friend in Richmond.  We met through my best friend Allison, and we had planned to meet at a Starbucks downtown just to meet and get to know one another.  It sorta felt like I was going on a blind date in the sense that I had never met Kevin and didn't know what he looked like, but I knew that he had been dating his girlfriend Melissa for a while.  Neither of us wanted coffee but we ended up chatting for a good hour or so.  It was so awesome, as if we were meant to be friends.  He kept saying how much I reminded him of Allison - what a beautiful compliment :)

I ended up moving about two blocks from Kevin (when we both used to live in the Fan), so we saw each other more frequently than we do now.  But he convinced me to play kickball and dodgeball with his team.  And this was huge.  We all know about my athletic abilities, or lack thereof.  But I had so much fun with him and his team!  Kevin and I would carpool, and after a game one night, I asked him if Melissa was "the one".  Without hesitation, he responded with a confident "yes".  He begin to tell me about how they met, and how scared he was to call her after he had gotten her number.  Oddly enough, we were driving on Main Street which was the same street that he was driving on the first time he called her.  He told me that he had said to himself, "Ok, I'm going to call her when I get to the next street light."  He then told me that about three street lights later, he finally gave her a call.  He said he was so nervous when he left her a voicemail, which he claims was very shaky and awkward.  But clearly everything was perfect, because one date led to this amazing wedding day!

Kevin, please don't misunderstand this - I think you are great.  But man, Melissa is one classy lady, and there is no doubt in my mind that your wardrobe drastically increased in appearance once ya'll started dating.  For the record Kev, searsucker is a good thing!  The wedding was beautiful, and I do give credit to Kevin, but I am sure Melissa may have taken the reigns on this one - she has very good taste!  They couldn't have asked for better weather.  It was hot, but there was a breeze so it was really nice.  Here are a few pictures from Melissa and Kevin's wedding:

Congrats Melissa and Kevin!  I am very excited to see what your future holds.  Perhaps some little ones? In searsucker of course... :)  Love you both!!

xoxo,
Roxana
