My family went to the VT / Central Michigan game a few weeks ago. We usually go to one Tech game a year - a mini tradition we have. I look forward to it every single year. Last year, it was a night game, and the weather was freezing. This year, the game was at 12:30pm, and it was about 80 degrees -- quite the difference from last year. We drove up Friday, and went to dinner at McAdoo's in downtown Lexington with Ann and Steve, Juan's sister and her husband. I love downtown Lexington -- it is beautiful and historic. We woke up at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning to drive to Blacksburg. We set up our tailgate -- it was weird eating nachos so early in the morning. I did manage to see a few brave JMU people wearing purple... We tailgated until it was time to attend the game.

The game was a blow out -- Tech beat them bad! But it was still a fun game -- the adrenaline from the crowd gets me every time. It is so exciting to be surrounded by such diehard fans. After the game (yes, we stayed until it was over) we went back to our tailgate to eat a late lunch / early dinner. We had chicken, green beans, potato salad, pasta salad, cookies - it was quite the feast!

In my defense, we woke up super early for the game, tailgated, sat in the hot sun during the game, and tailgated some more -- I was exhausted and needed to take a little siesta. Overall, everyone had a blast -- I'm already looking forward to next year!
