One of my best friends, Brian, just recently turned 32. Two of his friends (Sarah and Stephanie) from his college days, and I drove up to NoVa for the day for lunch -- it was a burn and turn kind of day, but totally worth it! Brian and I met at DVP. He started about two weeks after I did. We bonded one day folding numerous sketches. Although Brian and I are very different in our interests and hobbies, we have a lot in common. I also think he's hilarious -- and I think he enjoys it when I laugh at his jokes, even if he is joking on me half the time. Brian has taught me numerous life lessons, as well as introducing me to awesome music. Even though Brian is.... older ... than me, and according to him, I talk like I'm on "The Hills" our friendship has maintained after I moved to Richmond. I was really hoping he would be super surprised when he saw the three of us at his door, but he just smiled...
Surprise Brian!!!
Brian's wife, Eileen planned the whole thing -- Brian had no idea we were all coming. We all went out to lunch in Sterling at LongHorn Steakhouse. It was pretty tasty -- Brian wanted to go because he heard they had bangin' ribs. He said he wouldn't order them again there.

After lunch, we all went back to Brian and Eileen's house and just hung out. It was fun catching up, touring their relatively new house, and talking about random stuff. The day went by way too fast. Sometimes, I feel if I don't see my friends for a while, I forget what they look like -- or worse, I fear that our friendship might change. Brian looks exactly the same, and he still joked on me like he used to :)
Stephanie, Sarah, me, and Brian
I like to think the chair they are sitting on is normal-sized, and they are just super teeny
Unfortunately Sarah, Stephanie, and I hit horrible traffic on the way home -- it took us about 3 hours to get back. But we all had a blast -- and are interested in doing it again. We hope Brian doesn't get sick of us!! Although, we're thinking him and Eileen should come down here to Richmond instead :)
